The Dignity Traders Simplicity in Execution™

Risk Disclaimer

We teach a process for clearer, more disciplined execution. We do not tell anyone what to trade, and we do not pretend trading is without risk. Please read this page in full.

In plain English

  • We provide trading education only — no advice, tips, calls or signals.
  • Trading, and derivatives trading in particular, carries a substantial risk of loss.
  • Most individual traders in equity derivatives lose money. Only ever trade with money you can afford to lose.
  • Every trading decision you make is yours alone.

Education only

The Dignity Traders is a trader-development and education business. Our website, The Dignity Reveal, our programmes and all related materials exist to help you understand markets, build a structured process and make your own decisions with more clarity and discipline. They are provided for educational purposes only.

Not advice, research or tips

Nothing we publish, say or teach is:

  • investment advice, or advice tailored to your financial situation, objectives or needs;
  • a research report or research analysis;
  • a tip, call or trading signal;
  • portfolio management, or an offer to manage money on your behalf; or
  • a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security, derivative or other financial product.

Any reference to a particular stock, index, sector or instrument is made only to explain a concept. It is not a view on whether you should trade it.

Trading carries substantial risk

Trading in the securities markets involves a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Prices can move quickly and unpredictably because of news, liquidity, volatility, gaps between sessions and events no one can foresee. You can lose some or all of the money you trade with.

Understanding a process does not remove market risk. A disciplined approach can help you define and manage risk; it cannot eliminate it.

Derivatives (F&O) in particular

Futures and options are leveraged products. A small price move can produce a large loss relative to the money you put in, and some positions — such as futures and sold options — can lose more than the margin you deposited. Option premiums can lose their value rapidly.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has published studies showing that a large majority of individual traders in the equity derivatives (F&O) segment incurred net losses. We encourage anyone considering derivatives to read these studies on SEBI’s website and the risk disclosures provided by their broker and the exchanges.

Only trade with risk capital

Only ever trade with money you can afford to lose without affecting your livelihood or obligations. Do not trade with:

  • borrowed money;
  • emergency savings, or money set aside for essential expenses, education, health or retirement; or
  • money you would need back within a fixed time.

Before you trade, understand the product, the costs (including brokerage, taxes and charges) and the maximum you could lose on every position.

No guarantee, past performance

We do not promise, guarantee or imply any income, return or financial outcome. Results vary from person to person and depend on many factors outside our control, including market conditions and your own decisions.

Past performance is not indicative of future results. Any past trade, market move or outcome that is discussed — by us or by anyone else — says nothing reliable about what will happen next.

Examples are illustrations

When we use charts, historical examples or hypothetical scenarios, they are there to illustrate a concept — how to think about a decision, a plan or a risk. They are not recommendations and not a record of trading results.

Historical and hypothetical examples benefit from hindsight and do not reflect real-world factors such as slippage, costs, liquidity or the emotional pressure of risking real money.

Seek independent advice

Before making any investment or trading decision, consider whether it is suitable for your circumstances. If you need advice, consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser or another appropriately qualified professional, and read the risk disclosure documents provided by your broker and the exchanges.

Nothing on this website implies endorsement by SEBI, any stock exchange or any other regulator.

Your decisions are your own

You are solely responsible for your trading and investment decisions, the capital you commit and the results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Dignity Traders, its team and its associates are not liable for any loss or damage arising from any decision you make or action you take based on anything you learn from us. See our Terms of Use for more.

Beware of impersonation

Because we do not provide tips or manage money, we will never:

  • send you stock tips, calls or signals — on WhatsApp, Telegram, social media or anywhere else;
  • ask for your broking or bank account login details, passwords or one-time passwords (OTPs);
  • ask you to transfer money to us or anyone else to trade on your behalf; or
  • promise you a fixed or guaranteed return.

If someone claiming to represent The Dignity Traders does any of these things, do not engage. Please let us know at support@thedignitytraders.com.
